Civil Servants Become Suspects In The Case Of The Collapsed Leles Garut Market Development, The Regent Intervenes
GARUT - Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan prepares a legal aid team for Garut Regency civil servants (PNS) who are suspects in the case of traditional market development in Leles District, Garut Regency, West Java.
"The local government will provide legal assistance," Rudy Gunawan told reporters in Garut as quoted by Antara, Monday, February 22.
He said the West Java High Prosecutor's Office found a violation of the law in the Leles Market development case, and a civil servant with the initials R was suspected of being involved in the case.
Garut regency, he said, invited the West Java High Court to uncover and carry out legal proceedings in the case of market development.
"Later, we will see how it went wrong," said the Regent.
According to him, the form of violation in the construction of traditional markets is the practice of buying and selling projects by contractors.
Garut regency, he said, has other facts in the development of the market, as well as the Attorney General's Office has facts regarding alleged violations of the law related to the market project.
"We'll see the facts, the investigators also have facts," he said.
The Regent expressed his disappointment regarding the construction of the Leles Market which was being tricked by the project mafia to the detriment of the community. For this reason, in this case there were two businessmen who became suspects.
Previously, the Leles Market began construction in October 2018 with a budget of IDR 24 billion.
The project, which is targeted for completion in 2019, has never been completed, even in the middle of the Leles Market building construction project, it collapsed until finally the work was stopped.
