Held Starting March 20, Not All 2021 Menpora Cup Matches Are Broadcast For Free
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) Akhmad Hadian Lukita stated that not all broadcasts of the 2021 Menpora Cup pre-season tournament can be watched for free.
"If possible, I would also like it to be free, but of course there are calculations for business," said Akhmad Hadian to Antara in Jakarta, Monday, February 22.
He added that there are several Menpora Cup matches in 2021 with 'free to air' status and there are also matches that can only be watched by paying for broadcasts to LIB partner channels.
"We ask potential partners, even if the payment is ideally as cheap as possible. This is all being discussed. The discussion is not easy, but we continue to try because this is only the initial stage," said Akhmad.
LIB, he continued, ensures that fans of national football will be facilitated in watching their favorite club matches.
This cannot be separated from the campaign to watch football at home in order to reduce the number of COVID-19 infections in Indonesia.
The Menpora Cup is held from March 20 to April 25, 2021 and is attended by all or 18 League 1 teams.
The Menpora Cup will go through the group stage which is divided into four groups and each group will run all matches in a designated area.
The four regions that hosted the group stage were Solo, Bandung, Sleman and Malang, while Palembang became the reserve location.
In accordance with the agreement of the National Police, Kemenpora, PSSI and LIB, the 2021 Menpora Cup must be held by implementing a strict COVID-19 prevention health protocol.
