Hundreds Of Villages In Kerinci Affected By Floods And Landslides
JAKARTA - The Emergency Flood and Landslide Task Force (Satgas) of Kerinci Regency said that so far 91 villages have been affected by flooding and 26 villages have been affected by landslides in the area.
The Commander of the Flood and Landslide Emergency Task Force (Dansatgas) of Kerinci Regency, Lt. Col. Inf. Andy Irawan, in a statement received in Jambi, Saturday, stated that 14 sub-districts were affected by the flood, consisting of 91 villages and nine sub-districts or 26 villages affected by landslides.
He said that in Kerinci Regency and Sungai Penuh City since early January 2024, the intensity of rainfall is quite high which has resulted in flooding has not subsided, so the district is threatened with isolation, because public facilities, especially road access, have been damaged and cannot be passed by vehicles.
Citing Antara, Andy Irawan said that for road facilities affected by landslides as many as 36 points, there were four broken bridges, five building health facilities, 49 units of education facilities, 642.85 hectares of rice fields, 14.45 hectares of horticultural land, and 2,305 chicken farms, 421 ducks and 100 cyclones.
To this day, the Emergency Response Task Force for the Flood and Landslides of Kerinci Regency has repaired 25 roads from 36 landslide points in Kerinci Regency.
