Incomplete Investigation, KPK Extends Edhy Prabowo's Detention For 30 Days
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again extended the detention of former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo for the next 30 days or until March 24. This is done to investigate cases of export bribery of lobster fries or seeds.
"Starting from February 23, 2021, to March 24, 2021", said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in a written statement, Monday, February 22.
Apart from Edhy, the KPK also extended the detention for 30 days for Edhy's special staff, Safri; Edhy Prabowo's wife staff, Ainul Faqih; and the management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (ACK), Siswadhi.
The four suspects will be detained at the branch of KPK's Red and White House Jail. "The detention extension is carried out to maximize the filing of cases of these suspects", said Ali.
As previously reported, in the case of the export bribery of lobster seeds, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with five other people, namely: Stafsus Minister of KKP Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).
The giver of the bribe was the Director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa Pratama (PT DPPP) Suharjito (SJT).
In this case, Edhy and five other people were charged with Article 12 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 11 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption (Tipikor) ) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the KUHP in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, as a bribe giver, Suharjito was charged with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Act in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
