Barcelona's Bad Week That Almost Extinguishes Messi's Last Dance
JAKARTA - When Lionel Messi decided not to leave Barcelona last summer, some fans were hoping to see a real 'Last Dance' style campaign, at the level of Michael Jordan in his final year at the Chicago Bulls.
But, in the past week, fans have effectively seen Barcelona's chances of winning three trophies away. The hopes of a resounding season under Ronald Koeman's tutelage are about to crumble.
After losing in the Supercopa de Espana to Athletic Bilabo, Barcelona lost 0-2 in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Sevilla. Then, they were crushed by Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 in the Champions League and lost two points against Cadiz in La Liga.
Spanish media, MARCA said, Messi's individual glimpses were not enough to make up for Barcelona's countless shortcomings.
In fact, Pedri could not save Las Blaugrana and Antoine Griezmann disappointed more often than he could have dreamed of.
Everything is bleak at the Camp Nou. The Catalans are on the brink of eliminating the Champions League and Copa del Rey, and a La Liga title looks unlikely either.

Additionally, Messi's contract expires at the end of the season and, if the club cannot convince him they can build a competitive project, he is likely to leave to challenge for the Champions League elsewhere.
The boring question popped up again. Where will Messi go for the summer? PSG or Manchester City?
