5 Suspects Of Gorontalo Student Death During Campus Ospects Not Detained, With Cooperative Reasons
JAKARTA - At least five suspects in the case of the death of a student during the inspection by the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Sultan Amai Gorontalo were charged with Article 359 regarding negligence with the threat of a five-year prison sentence.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the Bone Bolango Police, Iptu Ahmad Fahri, said the five suspects had the agenda of the IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo new student activity committee.
"We have temporarily determined five suspects, and if there are other instructions from the prosecutor's office, it is possible to increase," said Ahmad in Gorontalo, Thursday, January 11, as reported by Antara.
Until now, the identities of the five students who are suspects have not been disclosed to the public by the Bone Bolango Police.
The suspects were also not detained. The police argued that the five cooperative suspects were only asked to report twice a week.
Ahmad said as many as 80 witnesses had been examined in the investigation of this case. In the near future, his party will transfer the case files to the Prosecutor's Office.
"God willing, next week when the file has been sent, we will inform you of its progress," he said.
