West Kalimantan KPU Ensures Cermat Sends Logistics For Elections To Areas Difficult To Reach Transportation
The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Kalimantan Province (KALBAR) has confirmed that it will be careful by prioritizing the delivery of logistics for the 2024 General Election to areas that are difficult to access transportation.
The West Kalimantan KPU commissioner, Suryadi, said this was an effort to mitigate potential problems that might arise in its distribution.
"This emphasis is carried out in order to mitigate and anticipate potential problems that may arise early on," said Suryadi in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Thursday, January 11, as reported by Antara.
He explained that areas that are difficult to access transportation, such as those that must be reached by sea, by hill, and areas with damaged road infrastructure.
The priority scale of this distribution delivery, he said, was taken to prevent distribution constraints that may arise, especially in almost all sub-districts throughout West Kalimantan.
"We have coordinated with the regency/city KPU and have asked for special attention in distribution from district to sub-district. Delivery must start from the beginning, so that the farthest and difficult to reach areas are not left behind, so that the distribution to the voting level (TPS) can run smoothly," he said.

Suryadi also highlighted the need for mitigation related to transportation modes, including the involvement of local stakeholders such as the use of ships and other means of transportation.
This becomes more crucial, especially during the rainy season, where the West Kalimantan KPU allocates serious attention to ensure that logistics distribution reaches polling stations safely.
"In terms of delivery and distribution, we ask that we take into account the weather and ensure security so that logistics are not damaged when they arrive at polling stations or sub-districts," he added.
Suryadi also acknowledged the importance of collaboration in logistics distribution. Bawaslu and the TNI/Polri were involved to oversee and ensure that logistics arrived properly and on time at the TPS.
"We hope that special attention is given to areas that need to be prioritized so that it does not become an obstacle on voting day. H-1 of the vote is our target so that all logistics have reached the polling station," he said.
