Anies Questioned About Debate Comments, Jokowi: Saa Talks For Improvements Also For Introspection Of Us All
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo emphasized providing input or views regarding the third debate for the 2024 presidential election for the three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates.
"I am speaking for the three candidates and for future improvements," said President Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 9.
Jokowi said the input or views he conveyed were also for introspection and evaluation of all parties.
"Also for introspection, all of us. For our evaluation, all of us. I don't speak (for) one candidate or two candidates, yes," he said.
Previously, President Joko Widodo expressed his views on the third debate of the 2024 presidential election.
According to Jokowi, the substance of the vision of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the third debate of the 2024 presidential election which was held in Jakarta, Sunday (7/1) night, was not seen.
"Yes, firstly, I saw that the substance of his vision was not visible," said Jokowi in response to reporters' questions on the sidelines of a working visit in Serang, Banten, Monday (8/1).
Jokowi assessed that what was seen in the third debate actually attacked each other between persons, which should not have happened.
"What seems to be attacking each other is what actually doesn't matter, the origin of policy, the origin of vision, it's okay," he said.
The President emphasized that if the debate has attacked individuals, individuals, who have nothing to do with the context of the debate, then the debate can be called less education.

As previously reported, presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan admitted that he was surprised by the attitude of President Joko Widodo who commented on the third debate of the 2024 presidential election.
Joko Widodo, who regretted the debate that was held on Sunday, January 7, was considered a place to attack each other between presidential candidates.
"I was even a bit surprised, Mr. President commented on the debate, right? So, I don't want to comment too much. Let the public judge later," said Anies in Gorontalo, Monday, January 8 evening.
In fact, according to Anies, the arguments he made in the debate against Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo only highlighted policy issues.
One of them is about Anies' statement comparing Prabowo to own an area of 340,000 hectares, while currently there are still many TNI soldiers who do not have official residences.
"Actually, what was discussed last night was all about the policies being carried out. This is part of the public being able to evaluate the policies that have been carried out," said Anies.
"In fact, it's strange that it's seen as personal, it's absolutely nothing personal, everything is about policy," he added.
