Anies Baswedan Disentil Jokowi, Opens Defense Data Including Alutsista Not Like A Grocery Shop
BANTEN - President Joko Widodo emphasized that defense data, including the main weapon system (alutsista), cannot be fully opened, such as grocery stores because it involves the country's major strategy."You can't open everything like grocery stores, you can't, you can't, right," said Joko Widodo on the sidelines of a working visit in Serang, Banten, as reported by Antara, Monday, January 8.This was conveyed by Jokowi regarding the existence of a presidential candidate who asked for defense data to be transparently disclosed to the public in the third debate of the 2024 presidential election, Sunday night.It is known that presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan mentioned the transparency of defense equipment.Anies asked Prabowo, who is also the Minister of Defense, to disclose the light of defense and security data in Indonesia.Jokowi explained that many things related to defense must be kept secret because it involves security."What is related to defense, which is related to state security, related to defense equipment, there are things that can be open, but we really have to keep it a secret because this involves a big strategy for the country," he explained.In the third debate of the 2024 presidential election, presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo and presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan threw criticism of the purchase of the used defense equipment to presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto, who is the Minister of Defense.Ganjar and Anies believe that the use of used defense equipment risks the safety of soldiers. Ganjar even asked for the data to be transparently disclosed to the public at that time.However, Prabowo answered the criticism. He explained that the purchase of defense equipment was not seen from the new or used, but from its lifetime, for example, flight hours for aircraft.
Prabowo also said that defense data could not just be opened at that time.
