Cool! Andy Lau And Tony Leung Chiu One Film Project After 20 Years

JAKARTA - Seasoned Hong Kong actors, Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu will be competing again after 20 years. Through a film called Gold Finger, the two will be brought together.

Previously, they acted in the Infernal Affairs trilogy from 2002 to 2003 where Lau and Leung played members of the police force.

Launching the Straits Times today, February 21, both of them said they were enthusiastic about this latest project.

"I feel enthusiastic and happy because we have worked together from television to film," said Leung Chiu.

"After reading the script, I felt Tony Leung was the clearest choice to act with me," said Andy Lau.

This film tells the story of anti-corruption in the 1970s. As police, the two of them would disguise themselves as members of the mafia and return to being the police over and over again.

Gold Finger will be directed by Felix Chung and starring young Hong Kong stars namely Simon Yam, Charlene Choi, Alex Fong, Chin Ka Lok, Philip Keung and Catherine Chau.

They made this film as a strategy to improve the Hong Kong film industry which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu were reluctant to reveal when this film would be released.
