Health Condition Improves, Lewis Capaldi Releases 5 New Songs That Had Been Postponed
JAKARTA - Scottish singer and songwriter Lewis Capaldi announced his health condition after being diagnosed with Tourette syndrome which forced him to stop his musical activities and focus on his health.
Through a long explanation uploaded on Instagram, Lewis Capaldi said he was better after being helped recover his condition since last June 2023.
I've worked with some amazing professionals to help me learn and deal with Tourette's problems and my anxiety better. I'm excited to say that I've seen two real improvements since I decided to take leave in June," Lewis Capaldi said, citing his Instagram account, Friday, January 5.
"I'm really overwhelmed by the reaction to the news that I'm taking a break and now I want to thank all of you who have contacted me, leave comments, tweets or DM wishes me all right," he continued.
At the same time, the 27-year-old musician also informed that he would return to music in the near future. He is increasingly excited to return with a delayed music project.
Lewis is grateful for fans' support for his second album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, which was released in May 2023. He said he had prepared five new songs to complete the album.
Before I decided to stop for a while, I always hope to release an extended version someday! After going back and forth thinking whether it was the right action to do or not, I decided it would be a shame if these five additional songs, which were very special to me, were stored on a hard drive and never seen," Lewis said.
"With that, I am very happy to announce that the Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent (extended version) will belong to you to listen to," he continued.
Adapun, lima lagu baru yang dimaksud adalah Strangers, A Cure For Minds Unwell, Someone I Could Die For, The Anient Art Of Always calm Up, dan Old Navy Blue. Semua lagu tersebut dapat didengarkan di seluruh platform musik digital.
For the time being, Lewis will take the time to create new works and also prepare a show for fans.
"For now I will continue to take the time to keep myself, maybe write music, and take a moment to reflect on some of the most extraordinary years of my life. I want to really make sure that I've been one hundred percent before going back, to do more shows and do what I love more than anything else," he said.
