Jakarta-Commuterline Bandung Raya Train Collision, KAI Will Strive For Engineering Operation Patterns
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) confirmed the accident between the Turangga train, the Surabaya Gubeng-Bandung and Commuterline Bandung Raya, which occurred this morning, Friday, January 5, at around 06.03 WIB.
The accident occurred at km 181 + 700 plots of the road between Haurpugur Station - Cicalengka Station.
"The rail line between Haurpugur-Cicalengka is temporarily impassable due to the accident. Currently, KAI is trying to evacuate passengers on the two trains (KA) that experienced the accident," said EVP of Corporate Secretary of KAI Raden Agus Dwinanto Budiadji.
Until this news was published, KAI had not released the number of victims. Raden Agus said the next effort from KAI was to evacuate two series of trains and repair damaged rail lines.
For KA-KA trips that will pass in the Haurpugur-Cicalengka area, KAI will make efforts to engineer operating patterns in the form of rotating roads and diversion using other transportation.
"KAI will also conduct an investigation with the NTSC to find out the cause of the accident. We will convey further information regarding this incident at the next opportunity," he added.
