Apple Developer At BINUS Graduates 1,155 Students With Achievements
JAKARTA - Apple Developer is an official program provided by Apple Inc. for software developers who want to create Apple technology-based applications or products, such as iOS (iPhone and iPad), macOS (Mac), watchOS (Apple Watch), and tvOS (Apple TV).
This program provides access to software development tools, documentation, resources, and other services needed to create applications or products compatible with Apple's ecosystem.
The Apple Developer program has several important benefits for students who are interested in entering the world of software development and designing applications for Apple's ecosystem.
No wonder many students are interested in participating in this Apple Developer program. On December 7, 2023, Apple Developer at BINUS is known to be holding a graduation event for students who completed the Apple Developer Academy Cohort 6 Graduation Event.
Participants from Cohort 6 came from more than 44 cities in Indonesia, covering areas from Aceh to North Sulawesi. There is a big contribution from BINUS UNIVERSITY, with student participation from various campuses, from Jakarta to Malang, BINUS Online, and also Alumni.
"By carrying the spirit of Vision BINUS 2035, the Apple Developer Academy at BINUS is trying to fill the shortages and gaps of digital talent in different perspectives to fill the needs of workers who have high competence in technology, digital, big data and artificial intelligence," said Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., MM, CSCA, Chancellor of BINUS UNIVERSITY in his statement, Friday, January 5.
In this graduation event, Apple Developer Academy featured three of the best teams presenting their innovative applications, leveraging Apple's technology to tackle real-world issues and support entrepreneurship.
For example, there is a Line application that helps Muslim drivers find mosques along the way, HerLens who uses machine learning to support health workers in more accurately analyzing the results of cervical cancer screening, and LYFY, a tool for online business owners in interacting with potential buyers during live broadcasts.
Since 2018, Apple Developer Academy has coached more than 2,000 potential developers in Indonesia, establishing partnerships with leading institutions such as BINUS UNIVERSITY.
Many alumni have successfully built careers in application development through advanced training programs such as Apple Entrepreneur Camp and Catalyst, which provides guidance from Apple experts and engineers.
One example of a successful alumni from this Academy is a team that has developed PetaNetra since joining in 2021. This indoor navigation application uses augmented reality to help the visually impaired and has collaborated with large institutions such as TransJakarta, Jakarta Cathedral, and the Jakarta Library.
As for other applications such as Tracco, which focuses on environmental sustainability and WonderJack, a game for children in Palestine. Another graduate is Muara, an augmented reality-based museum-based learning experience app, creating a 3D observatory on the iPad for the National Museum of Indonesia, which brings about important artifacts such as Arca Singhasari that are very valuable.
These applications have made a significant contribution in creating solutions to various real challenges and advancing various aspects of life, from health to education. BINUS UNIVERSITY offers superior (2+1)+1 programs that allow students to engage directly with the industrial world or society before they graduate.
Through collaboration between Apple Developer Academy and BINUS, it provides opportunities for students from various majors to gain a one-year work experience as developers. Dr. Nelly highlighted the essence of collaboration in encouraging innovation at the Apple Developer Academy at BINUS.
"Thank you to all those who have provided support to the Apple Developer Academy at BINUS. Special appreciation for collaboration in various forms, including field research and visits to several technology companies in Jakarta. Our hope is that more institutions will be involved in collaboration and share real case studies with academy participants, so that they can give birth to more innovations in the future," he said.
The Program Scheme (2+1)+1 can simply be translated as a 2-year college lecture at the original campus, 1-year college at the BINUS UNIVERSITY campus located in another city, and 1-year through an entertainment program.
In practice, the 2+1+1 BINUS UNIVERSITY program is actually divided into three different programs, namely:
Mobility Program
The first program is Mobility. This policy is one of the innovations of BINA NUSANTARA UNIVERSITY which will not be found in other universities.
Through this program, students have the opportunity to experience studying at the BINUS UNIVERSITY campus in other cities. BINUSIAN can take part in this program after entering the 5th semester and lasts for 1 year. BINUSIAN participating in the Mobility Program can take part in the same learning even though it is on the BINUS UNIVERSITY campus of another city.
For example, BINUSIAN in Malang or in Bandung had the opportunity to spend 1 year studying time at BINUS Greater Jakarta.
Please note, BINUS UNIVERSITY has a campus network in three major cities of Indonesia, namely BINUS Bandung, Malang, Bekasi and Greater Jakarta.
Specifically for BINUS Greater Jakarta, there are seven campuses that can be used while participating in the Mobility Program, namely:
- BINUS Kampus Syahdan.- BINUS Campus Anggrek.- BINUS Kampus Kijang.- BINUS Campus The Joseph Wibowo Center (JWC).- BINUS Campus FX Senayan.- BINUS Alam Sutera.
Minor Program
Furthermore, there is also a Minor Program that is optional in nature. BINUSIAN can choose to join this program or choose to stream. Streaming is done by enriching knowledge specifically on certain study programs that represent the latest needs.
In addition, streaming is carried out with efforts to deepen the major studied. Unlike streaming, Minor Program is an enrichment effort by using cross-disciplinary knowledge and skills.
Students can undergo this program in conjunction with the Mobility Program and choose different majors on other campuses. This innovative learning scheme can encourage wider student abilities, not only knowledge from the department.
Enrichment Program
The last is the Enrichment Program, which students can participate in when entering the 7th semester. This program lasts for one year or two semesters. Students who participate in this program can choose six types of activities, namely:
- Research.- Social Service.- Pioneer Business.- Study abroad.- Internship Work.- Further Study.
