Responding To Central Jakarta Bawaslu Calls, Gibran Admits There Was No Preparation

JAKARTA - Vice Presidential Candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka fulfills the summons of the Central Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) on Wednesday, January 3.

Gibran arrived at 13.38 WIB wearing a brown shirt. His arrival was welcomed by the Commander of the TKN Echo (Law and Advocacy), Hinca Panjaitan and Deputy Commander of the Echo, Habiburokhman.

Gibran admitted that he had no preparations to attend the Central Jakarta Bawaslu this afternoon. However, he was reluctant to comment further.

"There is no preparation," said Gibran at Bawaslu Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 3.

Deputy Secretary of TKN, Aminuddin Ma'ruf said he would provide clarification on alleged campaign violations in the free day of motorized vehicles or car free day in the Hotel Indonesia roundabout (HI) area at the end of last December.

"Mas Gibran will attend Central Jakarta Bawaslu today, at 13.00," he told reporters, Wednesday, January 3.

Previously, Deputy Commander of the Echo (Hunkum and Advocacy) TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Habiburokhman, had also confirmed that Gibran would fulfill the Central Jakarta Bawaslu summons today.

"For the call on January 3, 2024 at 13.00, actually this is less than 1x24 hours, it does not meet the element of call feasibility, but we are coordinating with Mas Gibran until now he insists on attending tomorrow," said Habiburokhman during a press conference at the Media Center TKN Prabowo-Gibran, South Jakarta, Tuesday, January 2, evening.

Habiburokhman explained that the reason his party did not recommend Gibran to attend the first summons was because the summons was unreasonable.

"So the first call was to attend on January 2, 2023. This is a letter that doesn't make sense, so I think this is playing with the time machine because it was called for the past year," he said.
