Ahead Of New Year's Eve 2024, The Direction Of Parangtritis Bantul Will Apply One Way

BANTUL - The Bantul Resort Police (Polres) will apply one direction or one way to anticipate traffic jams in the coastal area of Parangtritis.

Bantul Police Chief AKBP Michael R Risakotta said that he had mapped a number of routes that were prone to congestion or accumulation of tourist vehicles on New Year's Eve, one of which was Parangtritis Street in the Kretek area.

"In the Kretek area, it is prone to accumulation of vehicles at the Parangtritis TPR, but for the flow of tourists there is no problem, because we anticipate by imposing one direction," he said in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Sunday, December 31, as reported by Antara.

He said, especially on the Southern Cross Road (JJLS), there is already a Kretek II Bridge on the north side of the coast, which can be used to divert the outflow of Parangtritis Beach.

"So if there is a density of tourists in the Kretek area, we apply one direction, so for the flow of tourists entering one direction to the south, then exit it through the Kretek Bridge in JJLS," he said.

In addition to the southern coastal area, he said, congestion points are also prone to occur in the Piyungan section, or tourist routes to Gunung Kidul Regency, as well as meeting with tourist flows from the Prambanan Sleman area.

Other congestion-prone lanes in the Mangunan tourist area, Dlingo District, which are destinations in hilly tourist areas will also be crowded with tourists who will celebrate the new year and year-end holidays.

"We have carried out initial coordination, the police chiefs coordinate with tourism business actors to prepare security in places that are vulnerable, so that when tourists want photos or selfies are safe from accidents," he said.
