The Secretariat of the Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities, Hudiyanto, said that related to these findings, the PASTI Task Force had blocked applications and information and would coordinate with law enforcement officials to follow up on them in accordance with applicable regulations.
"In addition, the PASTI Task Force in the November 2023 period also blocked 337 illegal online loans on a number of websites and applications and found 288 personal loans (pinpri) that could potentially violate the provisions of personal data confidentiality," he said in his official statement quoted on Sunday, December 31.
Thus, from 2017 to 2023 the Task Force has suspended 8,149 illegal financial entities consisting of 1,218 illegal investments, 6,680 illegal online loans and personal loans (pinpri), and 251 illegal pawning entities.
According to Hudiyanto, the PASTI Task Force also found 38 bank accounts or virtual accounts reported by the public related to illegal online loan activities. In this regard, the Task Force has submitted a blocking of the intended account to the bank supervisory work unit at the OJK to then order the bank to block it.
Hudiyanto said this effort would continue to be carried out to further suppress the illegal online loan ecosystem in Indonesia.
In addition, Hudiyanto reminded the public to always be careful, alert and not use illegal online loans or personal loans because they have the potential to harm the public, including the risk of misuse of personal data.
Eradication of investment and illegal entities requires participation from the community. The community is expected to always ensure the legality aspect of a product and pay attention to the reasonable level of the promised results.
