JAKARTA - West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati has been operating since the end of October 2023. As of December 27, 2023, passenger occupancy at BIJB Kertajati reached 71 percent.
According to the Head of the West Java Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Iendra Sofyan, currently BIJB serves 1,589 passengers every day. This figure is predicted to continue to grow in the future.
"The number of passengers with an average load factor is 71.25 percent. BIJB has also served an average cargo traffic of 7,038 kilograms per day," said Iendra Sofyan in an official statement from the West Java Provincial Government Public Relations.
So far, there are six cities for both domestic and international flights at BIJB Kertajati.

Meanwhile, Executive General Manager of Angkasa Pura 2 (AP 2) BIJB, Nuril Huda Mahmudan, explained that the passenger occupancy rate will continue to increase. The figure of 71 percent for about three months of the operation is considered quite good.
"In general, it is still quite good because passenger occupancy is still at more than 70 percent. We will continue to strive to increase passenger occupancy in the future," said Nuril.
Judging from this achievement, Head of West Java Bappeda Iendra Sofyan appreciated the efforts made by BIJB operator Kertajati.
He also hopes that AP 2 can continue to strive to add routes, airlines, and improve services, to be able to meet the flight needs of the people of West Java, both domestically and internationally, including Hajj and Umrah flights.
"The hope is that routes and airlines will increase so that people have many choices. BIJB has fully improved West Java's economy and tourism as a whole, especially in the Tamboulytan Rebana (Cirebon area, Patimban, Majalengka)," explained Iendra.
"Ap 2 is also expected to be a partner of PT BIJB who continues to collaborate to improve the quality of air transportation services in BIJB," he concluded.
