DPR Hopes Perpetrators Of Provocation Of Delivery Chaos Lukas Enembe's Body Arrested

JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR highlighted the chaos that occurred during the process of delivering the body of the former Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe. The legal commission hopes that the perpetrators of the provocation can be caught soon.

"That is an unpredictable incident. Hopefully, the perpetrators who provoked the rioting incident will be caught soon," said Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Ahmad Sahroni, Friday, December 29.

The NasDem legislator for the DKI Jakarta electoral district also appealed to residents to be wiser in responding to provocations so that similar incidents do not happen again.

"The community is wiser in the series of sacred events so that similar incidents do not happen again," he said.

It is known that the riots made the Acting Governor of Papua Ridwan Ruikutun hit by a stone and rushed to the hospital.

"And to the Kapolda and Acting Governor of Papua you are a true leader who is affected by the actions of irresponsible people," he said.

Previously, the police noted that 25 shop houses (ruko) were burned by the masses during the riots in the delivery of the body of former Papua Governor Lukas Enembe in Jayapura, Papua. Furthermore, seven TNI-Polri officers were reportedly injured in the incident.

"We from the security forces have 7 TNI Polri, the driver is Karo Ops, and my team, my driver was also hit," said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri to reporters in Jayapura, Thursday, December 28, evening.

Inspector General Mathius emphasized that his party could control the security situation in Jayapura. His party is currently anticipating after the funeral of Lukas Enembe later.

"I have asked members in the ranks, we will guard until tomorrow morning until all the masses after the burial return. We will guard actions that should not be allowed," said Mathius.
