Anies's Desire For The Jakarta Floods To Recede In 6 Hours, Not Realizing, This Is The Explanation
JAKARTA - Several areas in Jakarta have been flooded from yesterday to the present. This condition is different from Anies' hope, where the flood can recede for up to six hours.
Regarding the duration of handling inundation and flooding in Jakarta, Head of Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) DKI Sabdo Kurnianto admitted that his party had tried to resolve inundation and flooding within 6 hours.
However, he emphasized, the duration of 6 hours has been calculated since the rain stopped and there were no more rivers or drains.
"Starting to count it like that, since there is no more overflow and the rain has stopped. If there is still overflow from the river or channel, then it will not flow water either", Sabdo said in his statement, Friday, February 19.
Sabdo said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has deployed personnel using mobile pumps to accelerate water extraction in residential areas and roads that are affected by puddles.
"Monitoring and operation of the Water Gate are also continuously carried out to ensure there are no obstacles in flowing water", he said.
Currently, BPBD DKI recorded that there are 99 RTs in Jakarta that were flooded today. In details, there are Neighborhood Association (RT 3) in West Jakarta and Neighborhood Association (RT 96) in East Jakarta.
Floods in West Jakarta occurred due to local rain and no residents were displaced. Meanwhile, floods in East Jakarta occurred due to rain and overflow of PHB (Share Panel) Sulaiman and Sunter rivers. There are 694 people who are still displaced.
For East Jakarta, especially in Citizens Association (RW 02) and Citizens Association (RW 03), Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, BPBD is pumping at PHB Sulaiman and Kalimalang. "Hopefully, it can subside in the next few hours", he said.
Anies Baswedan previously targeted the Jakarta Provincial Government to control the impact of the rain to be overcome within a maximum period of six hours after the event.
This was conveyed by Anies during the preparation for the rainy season in Jakarta with the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government, TNI, Polri, and related stakeholders at JICT II Pier, North Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 4.
"It is our responsibility to prepare all our strength to be able to dry the puddle in less than 6 hours. If the rainfall is below 100mm, it should be well managed. If it is above 100mm, we target that within six hours we must be able to overcome the inundation until it recedes", said Anies.
