PPP Cadres Defect Support Prabowo-Gibran, Ready To Be Sanctioned By Mardiono
JAKARTA - A number of cadres of the United Development Party (PPP) calling themselves PPP Fighters declared support for presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.
The National Coordinator of PPP Fighters who is also the Deputy Chair of the PPP DPP Advisory Council, Witjaksono, said that he and a number of legislative candidates (caleg) and PPP DPP administrators supported Prabowo-Gibran after hearing the aspirations of the community after yesterday's presidential and vice presidential debate.
Witjaksono is optimistic that candidate pair number 2 will win the 2024 presidential election contest in one round.
"After we saw twice the vice presidential candidate debate yesterday, and saw the aspirations that have been collected in the community directly, that we from PPP from young people, kiai, ulama, from many stakeholders in PPP, stated that we support through the PPP Fighters movement to win Prabowo-Gibran once in a round," said Witjaksono, Thursday, December 28.
The General Chair (Ketum) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Fisherman's Union (SNNU) admitted that he had coordinated with all stakeholders at PPP. He claimed that currently there are around 30 legislative candidates from the DPR and DPRD elements as well as 17 DPP administrators and the assembly that defected to support Prabowo-Gibran.
Witjaksono is even ready if he has to be sanctioned by the Acting Chair of PPP, Muhamad Mardiono.
"I am ready to accept all sanctions if indeed the party imposes sanctions on us, but we only convey our aspirations from below, that we from PPP fighters, God willing, will win Mr. Prabowo and Mr. Gibran for one round," he said.
Even so, he denied that there was a rift within the PPP led by Mardiono. Instead, according to him, by supporting Prabowo-Gibran, the Kaaba Party will qualify for Senayan in the 2024 Legislative Election.
"God willing, PPP will win and enter the senayan, God willing, instead, with us entering support for Pak Prabowo and Mas Gibran, God willing, our voices will be more solid," said Witjaksono.

Witjaksono believes that currently he and the cadres who are members of the PPP Fighters are still cadres. But, he said, all submitted the decision to the DPP.
"We are sure that we are still at PPP, but once again we accept all sanctions for this. So, we are open. Today it is not only us but there are candidates from all over Indonesia who have also made a declaration," said Witjaksono.
"We leave it to the DPP if for example we get sanctions, but we are sure that what we are doing is all for PPP and everything is for the good of the Indonesian nation," he concluded.
