Pak Anies, Today 99 RTs In Jakarta Are Flooded

JAKARTA - The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that 99 Neighborhood Association's (RT) in Jakarta were flooded today. In detail, there are 3 RT in West Jakarta and 96 RT in East Jakarta.

Floods in West Jakarta occurred due to local rain and no residents were displaced. Meanwhile, floods in East Jakarta occurred due to rain and the overflow of PHB (connecting channel) for Sulaiman and Sunter rivers. There are 694 people who are still displaced.

"All inundation is being handled by the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Water Resources Service and the Urban PPSU (Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Workers)", said Acting Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Sabdo Kurnianto in his statement, Friday, February 19.

For East Jakarta, especially in Citizens Association (RW 02) and Citizens Association (RW 03), Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, BPBD is pumping at PHB Sulaiman and Kalimalang. "Hopefully, it can subside in the next few hours", he said.

Currently, the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial BPBD have distributed the logistics needed for residents affected by inundation, as well as established refugee tents and BPBD posts.

Not only that, to ensure that residents affected by the inundation receive food aid and other daily needs, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Social Service has also established a Public Kitchen and distributed a number of these aids.

One of them, which has been done by the East Jakarta City Administration for Social Affairs, is to operate a public kitchen at the East Jakarta Sports Hall, Jl. Otista, Cipinang Cempedak, Jatinegara.

"For the initial stage, 20 Tagana members who work in public kitchens will prepare 2,530 boxes of ready-to-eat food including mineral water for lunch and dinner needs of residents affected by inundation", said Sabdo.
