Bank Mandiri Optimistic To Control Sindication Credit Market Shares In 2024

PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) hopes to continue to maintain its position as a bank with the largest market share in the Mandated Lead Arrangers (MLA) League Table at Bloomberg next year.

During the period from January 1 to December 21, 2023, Bank Mandiri managed to maintain its first rank in MLA with a market share reaching 15.36 percent.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Banking Director Susana Indah Kris Indriati said that her party predicts that entering 2024, the trend of sustainability-based syndicate financing such as green loans, sustainability links or financing for new and renewable energy projects (EBT) has the opportunity to grow.

"The trend is a response to global developments and Indonesia to net zero emissions, with the increasing concern of all parties towards Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)," he said in his official statement, Thursday, December 28.

According to Indah, the amount and volume, syndicated financing based on sustainability and prioritizing environmentally friendly principles in Indonesia will continue to grow in the future.

Indah said that her party will continue to strive to maintain consistency in providing innovative and solution financing support for business actors to have a positive impact on Indonesia's economic growth.

"In the midst of challenges and opportunities, we believe that with strong synergy and collaboration between financial institutions, the government and the private sector, Indonesia can achieve optimal and sustainable economic growth," explained Indah.

In addition, Indah said that this support is a form of the company's commitment to accelerate business growth and business for business actors which has a positive impact on the domestic economy.

Adpun merujuk data yang sama, total volume kredit sindikasi Bank Mandiri telah mencapai Rp67 triliun, dan sebanyak 38 transaksi.

Indah explained that although the syndicated credit volume in Indonesia in 2023 decreased, Bank Mandiri's market share on Indonesia's syndicated credit continued to grow 7.3 percent year on year (yoy) in early December 2023.

"This reflects Bank Mandiri's dedication in providing reliable and leading financial support in Indonesia to continue to encourage national economic growth," said Indah.

Indah added that there are not a few syndicated credit transactions managed by Bank Mandiri that involve international financial institutions, not only from domestic financial institutions.

"This is because the demand for Indonesian Syndicated Loans abroad is quite high, so Bank Mandiri also cooperates with bank partners abroad to participate in syndicated loans managed by Bank Mandiri," he explained.

Indah explained that most of Bank Mandiri's syndicated loans this year are channeled to leading sectors such as infrastructure, natural resources, consumer goods and metal processing.

"Not only in the Ril sector, in 2023 we will also see a growth trend for financing in the new renewable energy sector (EBT)," he said.
