Chaos Ahead Of Lukas Enembe's Funeral, Member Of The Papuan Electoral District House Of Representatives: Misunderstanding Of The Community And Police
JAKARTA - Member of the Papuan electoral district House of Representatives, Willem Wandik, said that there was a riot that had occurred in the middle of the procession of the body of the former Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe. Willem said the riots occurred because there was a misunderstanding between residents and the police.
"It's a bit of a mess, it's in the funeral room, so I'll just have a call later," Willem said when contacted by VOI, Thursday, December 28.
According to him, the clash between residents and the authorities occurred due to a misunderstanding.
"Yes, there were clashes there, people wanted to yesterday they asked to prepare a tent, prepare a bus, but the bus was not prepared, in the end the people were angry that they wanted to bring the bodies, the procession, the pikul community, the Arab procession to the location where the bodies were buried," explained Willem.
"But on that trip there were officers entering, there was a misunderstanding of the sedikti clashing, finally the masses burst," he continued.
In that incident, the authorities were beaten by an angry mob. In fact, said Willem, PJ Papua Governor Ridwan Ruikutun was also hit by stones.
"Aparat akat juga ada korban juga digebuki massa, termasuk pakj gubernur juga terkena pelempar batu menyasar begitu, sepilantas itu," katanya.
Currently, continued Willem, his party is still at the funeral home waiting for Lukas Enembe's body to arrive.
"This is not yet (the burial), we are at the funeral home, the bodies are still on the road," said the former regent of Puncak.
