Jakarta CFD Will Continue Amid Fears Of The COVID-19 Virus
JAKARTA - The news of the presence of COVID-19 or corona virus patients in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, did not stop the activities of Motor Vehicle Free Day (HBKB) or Car Free Day (CFD) on Jalan Sudirman-MH Thamrin.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that CFD should be held in the hope of improving air quality in Jakarta, as well as using public spaces for sports.
So that the continuation of the CFD does not violate the instructions of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan which prohibits crowd permit activities from using public spaces, there are special provisions that are enforced.
"Regarding the licensing of mass gathering, of course we obey. Which is, during CFD there should be no activities that gather the masses in the form of a stage," said Syafrin at City Hall DKI, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 6.
"CFD is currently only for sports, cycling, walking, or running. We have coordinated, once there is a mass gathering, we will put it in order," he continued.
Syafrin continued, during the CFD, officers from the Health Office would be tasked with measuring the body temperature of the people who entered the Sudirman-Thamrin road area.
"Health Office officers will be assigned to conduct socialization and temperature measurement for the community with a thermal gun at several points, namely the HI Roundabout, Sarinah, Hamlet, Taman Budaya, and Ratu Plaza," explained Syafrin.
For information, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan does not want to issue a crowd permit for the event that will be held in Jakarta in the future. However, if they already have the permit, Anies asks the organizers to review their activities.
This was done by Anies as an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The reason is, yesterday there were two Indonesian citizens who tested positive for the corona virus. They were treated at the Sulianti Saroso Infectious Diseases Hospital (RSPI).
"The provincial government will not issue new licenses for the activities of large groups of people. And those who have already issued their permits will be reviewed again," Anies said at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 2.
In addition, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also prohibits permit activities to use park locations, cemeteries, and green lines for competitions, bazaars, festivals, camps, and filming.
"Temporary suspension of licensing services and implemented until the non-licensing time limit which has not been determined," he said.
