South Sumatra LRT Add 8 Trips During The Christmas And New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - The South Sumatra LRT added 8 trips to welcome the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.

The addition of this trip was also carried out to accommodate the transportation of the LRT users who were on vacation.

The additional travel will be carried out on 23, 24, 25, 30, December 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024.

"The total journey on that date is 102 trips from the previous 94 trips every day," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Divre III Palembang Aida Suryanti in an official statement, Sunday, December 24.

Aida said the South Sumatra LRT operates every day starting at 05.06 and ends at 20.43, while for New Year's Eve 2024, the trip will end at 02.09 in the morning.

Currently, Aida said, the number of passengers from LRT Jan to December 23, 2023 is 3,940,013 passengers with a daily average of 11,036 passengers, and in 2023 the LRT targets to carry 4 million passengers.

"Of course, PTKAI as the operator together with the South Sumatra Light Train Management Center (BPKARSS) is committed to providing the best service to the community using South Sumatra's LRT services," Aida said.

In addition to adding to the trip, Aida said, her party also carried out ramp check facilities, anticipate disturbances in facilities and infrastructure and made integrated posts at LRT stations to welcome the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The integrated command post was opened from 19 December 2023 until the end of the Christmas and New Year posts on 7 January 2024.

"For convenience and services, passengers also provide tenant facilities at the Bumi Sriwijaya, Cinde, Ampera and DJKA LRT Stations," he said.

Aida said the tenants provide opportunities for business actors to sell MSME products in the form of handicrafts or food and beverage products, so that they are expected to improve the MSME economy.

"For the terms and conditions, the tenant can carry out further coordination with the South Sumatra Light Train Management Center (BPKARSS)," explained Aida.
