Google Launches Many New Features For Chrome, Can Save Tab Groups
JAKARTA - This week, Google will be rolling out new security and performance features on Chrome, which will allow users to have more control with what they do on the internet.
First, Google says that the Security Check feature for Chrome on desktop will now run automatically in the background.
So, you'll get a proactive warning if: passwords stored in Chrome have been compromised, any potentially dangerous extensions, if you don't use the latest version of Chrome, or site permissions require attention.
This warning will appear in the three-dot menu in Chrome so you can take action, Google wrote in its announcement on Google's official blog, quoted Friday, December 22.
In addition, Google is also expanding Security Checks where Chrome will automatically revoke your location access or microphone permission if you haven't visited a specific site for a long time.
The next feature is smarter performance control. Last year, Google introduced performance control such as Memory Savings mode to help Chrome on desktop run more smoothly.

Now, the search giant added more details about the use of your tab memory when you direct the cursor to the tab in Memory Savings mode, including a memory potential that is stored when the tab is inactive.
Next, in the next few weeks, you will be able to save the tab group on the desktop Chrome, so you can access it on another desktop device and easily work on your project back.
"We will bring a smarter and more useful feature to Chrome early next year supported by our new AI model, Gemini," he concluded.
