There Is COVID-19, Vigilance At Ports Is Increased
JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) or Pelindo 1 continues to increase vigilance and tighten supervision of the prevention of the spread of the corona virus (COVID-19) in all ports which are the entry points to Indonesia, both domestically and internationally.
"This is in line with the Government's directive in the Circular of the Ministry of SOEs Number SE-1 / MBU / 03/2020 concerning the awareness of the spread of Corona Virus Disease," said SVP of Pelindo Company Secretariat 1 M. Eriansyah in a statement quoted on Friday, March 6.
Not only that, he said, Pelindo 1 also made various efforts to prevent the spread of the virus for all passengers, crew, and all employees and related stakeholders in the Pelindo 1 environment.
"The supervision efforts carried out by Pelindo 1 have been carried out since the ship will dock at the port by cooperating with the Port Health Office (KKP) to carry out health checks for all crew members and the ship can be served after it is free from quarantine," he explained.
This effort is implemented in all ports owned by Pelindo 1, which includes the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, and the Riau Islands, which serve loading and unloading of domestic and international cargo, especially from countries of origin of cargo (imports) affected by the corona virus.
For the passenger terminal area, a thermal scanner has been installed to check the body temperature of passengers in all passenger terminals which include: Tanjungpinang, Belawan, Tanjung Balai Karimun, Tanjung Balai Asahan, and Dumai Passenger Terminals. The passengers who disembark from the ship are immediately subjected to body temperature checks.
Pelindo 1 installed an information board that contained the dangers of the corona virus and how to prevent it, provided hand sanitizers and distributed masks to passengers.
Pelindo 1 also continues to coordinate with the KKP and / or the local Health Service, Customs, Quarantine, Immigration, and the Ministry of Transportation through the Port Authority and Harbormaster Office and a number of other relevant agencies in monitoring and preventing the spread of the Corona Virus.
Pelindo 1 requires all operational officers and guides to always use special masks, personal protective equipment (PPE), glasses and gloves in carrying out their duties.
In addition, Pelindo 1 also conducts socialization to anticipate the spread of the Corona Virus to employees in all Pelindo 1 branches. Efforts include: checking the body temperature of employees when entering the office area, socializing procedures for washing hands regularly, providing hand sanitizers in several places, put up information posters, appeal to employees with coughs and flu to wear masks and take time off for those who are sick, and suspend overseas travel, especially to countries affected by COVID-19.
M. Eriansyah explained that various efforts to prevent the spread of the corona virus had been carried out by Pelindo 1 since the beginning of 2020.
"Pelindo 1 is actively involved in monitoring and disseminating the prevention of the spread of the corona virus in the Pelindo 1 environment, both for crew members, passengers, employees, and also through social media for the general public. Pelindo 1 continues to support the government in its efforts to handle and prevent the Corona outbreak. "Explained M. Eriansyah.
