Update On COVID-19 As Of February 18: New Cases Of 9,039

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 24,248 specimens were examined with the results of 9,039 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,252,685 people and as many as 160,494 active cases", the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Thursday, February 18.

Today, there are 10,546 cases recovered, so that a total of 1,058,222 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 181 people and the total was 33,969 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 4,420 cases and a total of 188,526 cases. Followed by Central Java, which has 676 new cases with a total of 144,964 cases. East Java has 559 new cases and a total of 124,419 cases. Then, East Kalimantan has 518 new cases and a total of 50,826 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 3,249 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,695 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 648 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an increase of 492 recovered cases.

No province reported having any new cases as of today. The province that reported the fewest new cases was North Maluku with 4 cases.

Also, the number of specimens examined reached 10,188,747. In detail, 10,039,985 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 148,762 using Molecular Rapid Tests (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 18.5 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 82,444 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.

Currently, 1,164,144 people have been vaccinated against the first dose of COVID-19, and 623,832 have been vaccinated against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 181,554,465 people.
