PLN Urges To Maintain Safe Distance Between Campaign Performance Equipment And Electricity Network
JAKARTA - Entering the General Election (Pemilu) campaign period, many Campaign Performance Equipment (APK) in the form of flags, billboards, and umbule were installed in public places. General Manager of PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit, Lasiran, appealed to the installation of the APK to always pay attention to the safe distance to the electricity network.
"Pay attention to the safe distance in installing flags and billboards with cables and other electrical installations for public safety and security," said Lasiran.
The safe distance between the APK and the PLN network is approximately 2.5 meters from the Medium Voltage cable. The distance from the Low Voltage cable is approximately 1 meter. The potential danger caused by the APK that sticks to the power grid is an electrical short circuit to the danger of explosions and fires.
PLN also appealed to the APK not to be installed on electricity poles because it was feared it would increase the load of the electric pole so that the pole could become tilted.

Lasiran added that in the context of the General Election, PLN is ready to support electricity reliability in important locations. Personnel and equipment are also prepared to maintain the continuity of electricity supply.
"PLN prepares a layered electricity supply at an important location for the election, between 2 and 5 layers," said Lasiran.
