JCI Back Down, Thursday Afternoon Closed Down 0.21 Percent To Level 5,638.13
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) turned lower at the close of trading on Thursday, March 5. JCI closed down 0.21 percent or 12.01 points to 5,638.13.
At the close of trading this afternoon, as many as 188 stocks rose, 204 stocks fell, and 142 stocks were stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 6.50 billion shares and was transacted at Rp6.98 trillion.
Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama said, the correction in the JCI was more influenced by the lack of catalysts from various domestic and global markroeconomic data which gave a positive high market impact on the market.
"On the other hand, the COVID-19 factor also plays a role in inhibiting the performance of index growth, it is evident that the rupiah is currently correcting against the US dollar," Nafan told VOI.
This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Agroniaga Tbk (AGRO) which rose 25 percent to Rp160, PT Bank BRIsyariah Tbk (BRIS) which rose 24.51 percent to Rp254, and PT Kimia. Farma (Persero) Tbk (KAEF) which strengthened 22.82 percent to IDR915.
Meanwhile, stocks that are in the top losers ranks, including PT Alfa Energi Investama Tbk (FIRE) which fell 7.56 percent to Rp159, PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPPF) which fell 7.17 percent to Rp2,980. and PT Tiphone Mobile Indonesia Tbk (TELE) which fell 5.77 percent to Rp147.
