Motivated By Mbappe's Hat-trick To Barca's Goal, Haaland: Thank You

JAKARTA - Erling Haaland declared Kylian Mbappe's hat-trick against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League last 16, motivating the Borussia Dortmund striker to bring his team to a 3-2 win against Sevilla on Thursday morning WIB.

The 20-year-old Norwegian striker scored twice against Sevilla and was only beaten by Mbappe as the player who has scored the most goals in the Champions League before his 21st birthday with 18 goals in 13 games. Mbappe (22) scored 19 goals before turning 21.

Mbappe was brilliant when he beat Barcelona 4-1 the day before, scoring three goals which Haaland cited as a source of motivation.

"When I saw Mbappe score a hat-trick, I got free motivation, so thanks to him," said Haaland after the match against Sevilla. "He's scored some beautiful goals and I got a shot of encouragement from him, so that's great."

Like Mbappe, Haaland is said to be moving to a number of clubs including Real Madrid. When asked about the possibility of moving to Spain, Haaland replied, "it's great to be the person you want to be."

Regarding the rumors of moving away from PSG, Mbappe replied, "I always say I am happy here. The PSG shirt is one that I love to my heart."
