The Great Mission Of Flying The Red And White, Batik Motifs Decorating The Livery Of The Indonesian Racing Team Motor In Moto3
JAKARTA - Batik motifs adorn the motorbike livery of the Indonesian Racing Team Gresini Moto3 which will compete in the Moto3 class this year.
At the launch event which was broadcast live from Italy on Wednesday, riders Jeremy Alcoba of Spain and Gabriel Rodrigo of Argentina pulled the curtain covering their new ride this season.
Indonesian Racing is a brand for the Indonesian motorcycle racing team initiated by the Indonesian sports management company MP1.
With the mission of raising the Red and White flag at the MotoGP world championship, Indonesian Racing will have its debut year with a familiar name in the world of motorcycle racing, Gresini Racing, under the banner of Indonesian Racing Team Gresini Moto3.
With a multi-year contract, Indonesian Racing is the main sponsor of the Gresini team in the Moto3 class. The Indonesian Racing logo will also be displayed in the Moto2 class as a sponsor of the Gresini Racing team in the middle class.
"The batik in the livery comes from the palace in Central Java and was modified by a designer from Italy ... We deliberately did that to bring Indonesian culture to the international," said MP1 managing director Ance Dewianti at a virtual press conference, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.
The black batik motif is emblazoned on the fairing of the Honda 250 cc motorbike with a red background color with the Indonesian Racing logo on the top.
"About this bike ... the colors leave me speechless. I really like the classic colors, but I have to say the new look of Honda is very charming," said Alcoba.
His team-mate, Rodrigo, is no less enthusiastic about finding a new color on his bike.
"After an intense 2020, with so many problems, I have to leave all of this.
"I have to reset, especially mentally and I'm ready to start again ... not only mentally, but the graphics and everything is new, from the colors to my numbers," said Rodrigo, who is eyeing the title this year.
As revealed by Team Gresini marketing director Carlo Merlini, Indonesia is one of the biggest markets for MotoGP with so many fans.
"We have a special relationship with Indonesia, not only because of the large number of sponsors, but we know that Indonesians are motorsport enthusiasts.
"With this partnership we want to raise the Indonesian flag high in every race in the world," said Merlini.
