Presiding judge Erma Suharti in the trial mentioned things that were burdensome to the verdict. The defendant had previously been jailed for 2 years for illegal possession of firearms.
"There is nothing to relieve the defendant," Erma Suharti said in the trial, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 17.
The defendant was proven to have violated Article 114 paragraph (2) Jo. Article 132 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics. The verdict of the panel of judges was the same as the demands of the South Sumatran Prosecutor, Amanda, who asked the defendant to be sentenced to death.
The arrest of the defendant is the result of the development of the previous cases of other convicts, namely Sayadi, Sandi, Ekowardo
The three were invited by the defendant Alamsyah to take crystal methamphetamine from Jambi in February 2020. The four of them used two different cars in the same condition.
When crossing Jalan Noerdin Panji, Palembang City, the two cars were blocked by the South Sumatra Police Ditresnarkoba personnel. At that time, the defendant Alamsyah immediately fled alone so that he was on the wanted list (DPO).
Meanwhile, the crystal methamphetamine that was taken was in the car that Sayadi, Sandi and Ekowardo were in.
From the car, the officers found 22 plastic packs with the words Guanyinwang containing crystal methamphetamine with a total weight of 22 kilograms.
Then six months later in August 2020 patrol officers received information that a narcotics dealer was about to conduct transactions in Gandus District, Palembang City. When the arrest was made, it turned out that the dealer was identified as Alamsyah.
