Aceh Prosecutor's Office Investigates Alleged Corruption Of Road Safety Fence Project

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) is investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement and installation of a number of road safety fences. This procurement is carried out by the Aceh Transportation Service for the 2019 budget year.

Assistant for Intelligence at the Attorney General's Office, Mohammad Rohmadi, said that the investigation into alleged corruption is still in the early stages of gathering information and documents related to the procurement of the road safety fence.

"In this investigation, the team has also asked the budget user for information from the Aceh Transportation Service for the 2019 Fiscal Year," said Rohmadi as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 17.

Apart from budget users, the Aceh Attorney General's Office of Intelligence Assistant team of investigators will also summon and examine other related parties. This examination is to collect data related to indications of corruption in the procurement of the road safety fence.

Furthermore, the results of the examination and collection of these documents will be studied or not.

"Investigating the indications of corruption in the procurement of this road fence, among others, is based on public reports. Regarding how much the procurement budget is, I do not remember very well. The procurement of this road safety fence was financed by APBA 2019," said Rohmadi.

Previously, the Aceh Attorney General's Office wrote to budget users at the Aceh Transportation Service for the 2019 Fiscal Year to meet with the Head of Section C for Intelligence at the Aceh Attorney General's Office for inquiries regarding suspected criminal acts of corruption at the Aceh Transportation Service for the 2019 Fiscal Year.

Budget users who are questioned are asked to bring procurement documents. Among them are the procurement and installation of "rolling guardrail" in the Geurutee Mountains.

Then, the procurement documents for the installation of LED "glass eye" and "rolling guardrail u-turn" nails in East Aceh and Langsa City. Procurement and installation of rolling guardrail in Seunapet mountains.

Procurement documents for the installation of "rolling guardrail" in Aceh Selatan and Aceh Barat Daya, documents for the installation of "rolling guardrail u-turn" and accident-prone areas in Aceh Province.

As well as the "rolling guardrail" procurement documents, chevrons, mirrors, delinators, and markers on the Bener Meriah line at the Bogor Simpang, Geleungi-Corn and Bintang Line.
