Kapolsek Astanaanyar Bandung And 11 Members Arrested By Propam For Allegedly Using Drugs

BANDUNG - The West Java Police Propam arrested the Astanaanyar police chief who was suspected of taking drugs.

Head of West Java Regional Police Public Relations Commissioner Erdi A. Chaniago said the police chief was suspected of taking drugs along with dozens of his members.

"A total of 12 (police officers were secured), including the police chief. However, now what is clear is that the West Java Regional Police Propam is still deepening it," Erdi said in Bandung, West Java, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 17.

Kombes Erdi said the alleged case of narcotics abuse committed by a dozen police officers in Bandung originated from a public complaint to the National Police Headquarters.

From that report, the West Java Police Propam immediately moved to the Astanaanyar Police to conduct an investigation.

A number of members of the Astanaanyar Police, including the Kapolsek, also carried out urine tests. However, Erdi said the urine test had still not come out.

"Urine tests are still being carried out and examinations are still being carried out. Later on, we will convey the progress," said Erdi.

Erdi said that during the investigation of the West Java Police Propam regarding the case, no evidence had yet been secured. However, he said, there was evidence in the previous case related to the police chief's case.

"Incidentally there are some people (previously) who were positive after having their urine checked, this will be explored," he said.

For that case, the Head of the Astanaanyar Police and a dozen members were threatened with sanctions ranging from demotion to dismissal from the police service.
