Tjahjo Suggests No Long Holidays For ASN During Eid
JAKARTA - The Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPANRB) Tjahjo Kumolo has proposed that the state civil apparatus (ASN) no longer receive long holidays. This proposal was submitted because Indonesia is still facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was conveyed by him in the event of submitting the Results of Evaluation and Award for Public Service Scope of Polres / Polrestra / Polrestabes / Polres Metro Year 2020 which was conducted online on Tuesday, February 16.
"We propose that Eid Al-Fitr holidays, New Year's holidays do not have D-5 or H + 5, H-10 or H + 10. (Holidays, red) be shortened with strict and disciplined health protocols," said Tjahjo at the event.
The government previously set a joint leave of Eid Al-Fitr 2021 on May 12 and May 17-19.
Later this proposal will also be accompanied by the existence of strict sanctions arrangements for ASN and TNI and Polri who violate health protocols. This, he said, needed to be done because ASN, TNI and Polri had to be able to provide an example to the community, especially in efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
"ASN, TNI and Polri must be able to set an example in mobilizing and organizing society," he said.
Tjahjo said that cutting off holidays or leave together with the prohibition of ASN from leaving the city during this long holiday has effectively reduced the increase in COVID-19 cases. This assessment was conveyed after a similar policy was implemented when the Chinese New Year holiday arrived.
"Yesterday (COVID-19 cases, red) decreased 25 percent during the Chinese New Year holidays," he concluded.
