Government And BI Agree On 8 Strategic Steps To Increase National Tourism Performance

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) and the government held a coordination meeting to accelerate the development of the tourism sector to accelerate the performance of national tourism to support sustainable economic growth.

First, BI and the government will encourage an increase in foreign tourist visits and spending as well as an increase in domestic tourist travel. This determination will be implemented in the 2025 National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) until 2029.

Furthermore, accelerating the development of quality tourism in five super priority tourism destinations, especially in the basic infrastructure aspects and implementation of the principles of blue, green, and circular economy, as well as increasing regional government support.

Then, encourage the acceleration of increasing air connectivity, as well as the implementation of the development of visit visa schemes.

Next, encourage an increase in the promotion of private investment for the development of destinations through the promotional support of investment in super priority tourism destinations and environmentally friendly tourism.

Furthermore, accelerating the integration of the MICE-event international licensing system, including support in MICE-event potential mapping and MICE bidding facilitation.
