JAKARTA - Makki Omar Parikesit, the bassist of Ungu also has other activities after being appointed as Commissioner at the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN).

The 52-year-old musician said that his party continues to try to solve various problems to build a better Indonesian music industry ecosystem, especially regarding the distribution of royalties.

"We are at LMKN, and if I am in WAMI, I am trying how to build an ecosystem so that the interests of the songwriter can be served properly," said Makki in Kemayoran, North Jakarta some time ago.

"It turns out that there are still many things that need to be addressed, maybe one of them is database problems, legal construction, and all kinds of things," he continued.

Makki called the different views of stakeholders in the music industry a problem that must be resolved. He sees communication as key.

"Sometimes the problem is, sometimes the A, the B and the C, let's say about the law, it's not uniform. Yes, maybe communication with every stakeholder is important things that must be resolved," said Makki.

"Talks are constantly, friends who are not the same continue to communicate, we receive input too. But yes, sometimes there is a little gap in the same theory," he continued.

Furthermore, Makki also stated that there were efforts by LMKN to create a better royalty collection and distribution system.

"But thank God, actually, if you look behind the scenes, there are movements that show a better direction. In the end, God willing, everything will be transparent. It wanted real time, but yes, it needed to work with all stakeholders in the industry," concluded Makki Omar Parikesit.
