Manpower And Transmigration Office Data Collection Values -Build Key Networks For PMI Protection

JAKARTA - The West Java Provincial Government (West Java Provincial Government) considers data collection and building networks abroad as the key to protecting Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).

"To anticipate unpleasant things for them, the key is data collection and building networks abroad with representatives of the country there," said Head of the West Java Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans) Teppy Wawan Dharmawan on the sidelines of "Job Fair Fuji no Kuni Mensetsukai" in Bandung, Saturday, quoted by Antara.

Teppy explained, these two things include ensuring PMI protection is strengthening.

"The government plays a role in ensuring that everything is in the right procedure, to ensure the protection process, in accordance with existing norms to deliver assignments abroad," he said.

For this reason, he continued, data collection must be very adequate, related to destination countries and the type of work.

This, he said, was because the government had a responsibility to every Indonesian citizen, especially West Java, whether PMI departed procedurally or not.

In addition, he said, network development was also carried out by his party with diaspora in foreign countries, especially those who were favorites of job seekers, to be able to help each other with fellow Indonesian citizens.

Data collection and collaboration were carried out, added Teppy, because the network of the diaspora was very good and was able to provide information more quickly than on government channels.

"We are building this in this resilience system to manage, merge to collaborate with diaspora where job seekers go," he said.

Regarding the job exchange, he said it was the 5th edition for workers delivery to Japan, for two days (2-3 December 2023) at a hotel in Bandung.

This job exchange is fully facilitated by the Shizuoka Prefectural Government by inviting various companies there to come to Bandung.
