Muhaimin Visits Pekanbaru Arengka Morning Market
PEKANBARU - Vice Presidential Candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar visited Arengka Morning Market on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Pekanbaru City, Riau.
Muhaimin's arrival was welcomed by the surrounding community who were scrambling to take selfies with him. The man who is called Cak Imin also took the time to have a short dialogue with the traders at Pagi Arengka Market.
In the conversation, the traders submitted their complaints to Muhaimin regarding the rising prices of basic commodities. The increase in prices was recognized by traders as having an impact on the declining number of consumers.
"Their complaints (traders), basic commodities rise, such as rice, sugar and chili. They want adequate supplies so that buyers do not decrease," said Muhaimin as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 2.
Muhaimin said the issue of food sovereignty was the main thing that was the focus of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Anies Baswedan-MuhaiminIskandar or AMIN.
The candidate pair are committed to food as an economic force that prospers Indonesian farmers and people.
"We need good prices for farmers and prices are not high for residents. We have to reduce imports as small as possible," said the chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB).
After greeting the traders, Muhaimin headed to Muhammadiyah Riau University (Umri) to deliver a public lecture at one of the Islamic campuses in Riau.

Riau Provincial DPRD member Sugianto said Muhaiminakan inaugurated the Riau PKB DPW Office which had just been completed.
"Later, after the inauguration of the PKB office, Gus Imin will go to Kampar Regency to stay in touch with the Islamic boarding school," said Sugianto.
Regarding Muhaimin's visit to a free day from motorized vehicles (CFD) in Riau, Sugianto said that it could not be done for a while because there were rules that must be obeyed.
"For CFD, it is with a heavy heart that it is eliminated because according to the current rules it has not entered the open campaign stage. So, to AMIN lovers, we apologize for delaying it. God willing, in the future, the AMIN candidate can gather with supporters in Riau," said Sugianto.
