Former Mayor Of Batu Eddy Rumpoko Napi Semarang Prison Dies At Kariadii Hospital Due To Heart Failure

SEMARANG - Head of the Class I Penitentiary (Lapas) Semarang, Central Java, Usman Madjid stated that the former mayor of Batu, East Java, Eddy Rumpoko died of heart failure (cardiacarrest) while being treated at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang.

Eddy Rumpoko, who is a convict in a corruption case, has been undergoing medical treatment at Dr. Kariadi Hospital since Tuesday (28/11).

Usman explained that Eddy had complained of illness since Sunday (26/11) and had received treatment from prison doctors

After improving on Monday (27/11), continued Usmad, Eddy again complained of illness until he was finally referred to Dr. Kariadi Hospital.

"We have coordinated with the family concerned and have accompanied him while being treated at the hospital," said Usmandilan ANTARA, Thursday, November 30.

The team of doctors at RSUPDr. Kariadi also had time to inform the patient's condition improved on Wednesday (29/11). In fact, added Usman, Eddy is planned to return to the prison on Thursday.

However, Thursday, at around 05.11 WIB, Eddy Rumpoko was reported to have died by hospital officials due to heart failure.

The Class I prison in Semarang has coordinated with Eddy's family to arrange for the return of the body to Batu City, East Java.

During his sentence at the Class I Prison in Semarang, Usman assessed that Eddy had a health record in the form of diabetes and chronic heart problems.

"The person concerned has undergone outpatient treatment with doctor Dr. Kariadi Hospital," said Usman.

Eddy Rumpoko is a convict in a corruption case that was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Surabaya District Court (PN), East Java. Eddy has served his sentence at the Semarang Class I Prison since May 2022.
