JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) destroyed 12,031 liquor (alcoholics) confiscated since early 2023. The destruction of alcohol sold illegally or without this permit was held in the National Monument (Monas) area. Illegal alcohol / without permits destroyed by Satpol PP consists of various brands. With details of DKI Jakarta Province as many as 1,477 bottles, Central Jakarta Administrative City as many as 1,436 bottles, North Jakarta Administrative City as many as 2,601 bottles, West Administrative City as many as 3,306 bottles, South Jakarta Administrative City 1,000 bottles, and East Jakarta Administrative City as many as 2,211 bottles. DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Joko Agus Setyono said, the DKI Provincial Government cooperated with Polda Metro Jaya, Regional Military Command (Kodam), and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to carry out routine operations We carry out such operations periodically, collected in warehouses, then in a certain period we also destroyed. Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Arifin said, the destruction of this illegal alcohol bottle was carried out every year. The number of bottles seized currently experienced a reduction of about 500 bottles from last year. "Of course I hope that there is an indication of existence in this reduction, it means that places where the sale of alcoholic beverages have been increasingly reduced," said Arifin. Arifin emphasized that the confiscation and destruction of the bottles is also a step to minimize and control alcohol without permission in the DKI Jakarta area and protect the public from the dangers of adulterating alcohol causing death.

Moreover, Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order regulates the prohibition of selling, distributing, and storing alcoholic beverages without a permit. It is also contained criminal sanctions for imprisonment for violators with a maximum imprisonment of 90 days or a maximum fine of Rp. 30 million.
