Police Examine 8 Witnesses Regarding Syahrul Yasin Limpo's Extortion Case Today

The joint investigative team examined eight witnesses in the follow-up to the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, with the inactive KPK chairman, Firli Bahuri.

Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said that most of the witnesses were questioned at the Polda Metro Jaya, today.

"6 people were examined as witnesses in the examination room of the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya on the 21st floor of the Promoter Building," said Ade when confirmed, Thursday, November 30.

However, it did not explain in detail the identities of the six witnesses whose statements would be taken.

Only other witnesses will be questioned at Bareskrim Polri. Both are former Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Saut Situmorang and Secretary of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Agriculture Tin Latifah.

"Pak Saut Situmorang, one of which will be examined as a witness this morning in the Raksa Dittipidkor Bareskrim Polri room," said Ade.

In the follow-up to the handling of the alleged extortion case after Firli Bahuri was named a suspect, investigators have examined 30 witnesses as of Wednesday, November 29.

Witness 19 underwent examination in the examination room of the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya. While the rest are at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

Of the dozens of witnesses, three of them are former officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, namely, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and former Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery (Alsintan) Muhammad Hatta.

Then, investigators have also scheduled an examination of Firli Bahuri on Friday, December 1. The inactive KPK chairman will be questioned as a suspect.

The examination of Firli will take place at the Directorate of Corruption Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit at around 09.00 WIB.

In this case, Firli Bahuri, who has the status of a suspect, is suspected of under Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
