LIB Calls PSM Potentially Not Participating In League 1 2021 If Not Paying Giancarlo Rodrigues' Salary
JAKARTA - The Managing Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) Akhmad Hadian Lukita said that the PSM Makassar club could potentially not appear in Liga 1 for the 2021 season if they did not fulfill their obligations to their former striker Giancarlo Rodrigues.
"It's a possibility like that (not being able to play in League 1 2021)," said Akhmad Hadian to Antara, Tuesday night.
He emphasized that the letter from LIB numbered 024 / LIB-KOM / II / 2021 regarding the Affirmation of the Implementation of the FIFA Decision on the Makassar PSM Club dated February 15, 2021, stated that the club nicknamed Juku Eja could not register players for the three registration periods.
That is, it is a prohibition to register players who will compete in League 1 or official competitions recognized by FIFA, not a transfer ban or registration of new players recruited from the transfer market.
"That's right (for player registration). This sanction applies to the 2021 season competition or the nearest competition," said Akhmad Hadian.
PSM Makassar received sanctions from FIFA because it has not resolved the problem of paying the salary of former player Giancarlo Rodrigues.
Related to that, based on the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee Ref. nr. FDD-7297, FIFA 'Dispute Resolution Chamber' number Ref. nr. 20-01217 and PSSI letter number 2053 / UDN / 836 / I-2021, LIB issued a letter on February 15, 2021 numbered 024 / LIB-KOM / II / 2021 regarding the Affirmation of the Implementation of the FIFA Decision on the Makassar PSM Club dated February 15, 2021.
In the letter, LIB emphasized three things related to the sanctions received by PSM, namely, first, FIFA decided to punish the Makassar PSM club in the form of a ban on player registration at both the national and international levels for a maximum of three registration periods or until the club's obligations can be completed.
Second, based on the PSSI letter, LIB will block the registration system with the PSM Makassar club until the club's obligations are fulfilled.
Finally, LIB delivered a copy of its decision letter to all participating clubs in League 1 and League 2 2020 regarding the implementation of the prohibition on registering national and international players to PSM Makassar.
LIB and PSSI themselves want Liga 1 and Liga 2 Indonesia for the 2021 season to roll after Lebaran, starting in May or June 2021.
