House Of Representatives Commission I: General Maruli Simanjuntak Is One Of The Best Pati Of The Indonesian Army
JAKARTA - Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives believes in the experience of TNI General Maruli Simanjuntak who is now trusted to be the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD).
"Pak Maruli is one of the best regents (high officers) owned by the Indonesian Army. His abilities, abilities and experience have received many brevet awards from within and outside the country such as the United States, Britain and Thailand, the right proof of figure to become Army Chief of Staff," said Chairman of Commission I DPR RI, Meutya Hafid after attending General Maruli's inauguration as Army Chief of Staff, Wednesday, November 29.
General Maruli graduated from the 1992 Military Academy (Akmil) experienced in the infantry of the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) and the Cakra Combat Detachment. Meutya assessed Maruli as a pioneer soldier in which the man who is also still filling the position of Pangkostrad is also known as the originator of the TNI AD Manunggal Air program.

"There are hundreds of thousands of residents from Aceh to Merauke who are assisted by access to water with the TNI AD Manunggal Air program initiated by Pak Maruli," explained the legislator from the North Sumatra I electoral district.
The manunggal air program is a program for providing clean water for residents who live in places where clean water has not been accessed. Such as in barren areas, to disadvantaged, outermost and frontmost areas (3T).
With Maruli's recent appointment to become a 4-star Pati, Meutya hopes that the former Paspampres Commander can continue and improve the running work programs of the Indonesian Army. He believes Maruli can become the Army Chief of Staff who carries out his duties in a mandate.
"My hope is that in the future, the Army will be more professional, advanced, and of course the most important thing is that the Army is always in the hearts of the people," concluded Meutya.
