Judge Sentenced To One Year In Prison Jember Village Head Corruption Fund Village
JEMBER - The panel of judges at the Surabaya Corruption Court sentenced the Village Head of Mundurejo in Jember Regency, Edi Santoso, because he was found guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption in the management of village funds.
The verdict was read out by the panel of judges at the trial of reading the verdict on the misappropriation of village funds with the defendant Kades Mundurejo Edi Santoso at the Surabaya Corruption Court, East Java, Wednesday, November 29.
"Kades Mundurejo was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million with a subsidiary of one month in prison," said Head of Intelligence at the Jember Kejari Arief Fathurahman as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 29.
He said the one-year prison sentence was reduced by detention with the status of city detention and evidence in the form of money worth Rp. 96,000,000 was returned to the village treasury account.
"There was evidence returned to witness Yeyen, namely in the form of several documents and original documents, and some were attached in the case file," he said.
Previously, the public prosecutor of the Jember District Attorney charged the defendant with a prison sentence of one year and six months and a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to three months in prison.
The defendant EdiSantoso was charged with Article 2 Paragraph 1, Article 3 in conjunction with Article 8 and 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
"The panel of judges' version is lighter than the prosecutor's demands, but we have seven days to think about it, whether we want to appeal or not," said Arief.
In this case, Kades Mundurejo Edi Santoso included the budget contained in the Mundurejo Village Regulation Number 7 of 2021 concerning the Mundurejo APBDes which included a pavingization budget on Jalan Navi of Rp. 275,743,210 with a road length of 300 meters and a width of 3.2 meters.
The defendant disbursed the entire budget and used to pay the paving road tax amounting to Rp33,090,900 so that the remaining Rp242,652,310. The remaining money seemed to be handed over to the paving seller with the initials G amounting to Rp96,700,000.
