The Problem Of Pinjol Being A Highlight In The Feasibility Test Of BPKN Members

JAKARTA - Commission VI of the DPR RI highlighted the online loans (pinjol) that have hit many Indonesian consumers, in the fit and proper test of candidates for members of the National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) in Jakarta.

This was conveyed by Subardi from the Democratic National Party (Nasdem) and Dadang S Muchtar from the Golkar faction. According to the two politicians, consumer complaints are related to very high collection and interest.

"Regarding loans, this should not continue to develop. What are your steps or solutions related to loans," said Subardi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 29.

BPKN candidate Syamsul Bahri Siregar said BPKN could be more intense in collaborating with the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

According to Syamsul, the average online loan service provider always claims that its platform is officially supervised by the OJK.

OJK continued to have a Directorate of Consumer Protection. Most problems come from the banking sector.

"Now there is a Directorate of Consumer Protection. We promise that if later elected as a member, one of the necessary and important collaborations is with the OJK," said Syamsul.

Meanwhile, BPKN member Fitrah Bukhari said that there were more worrying problems than loans.

According to Fitrah, consumers who are victims of phishing or theft of information/data using fraud techniques are no less numerous than loans.

"I once advocated for civil servants who were hit by fake TikTok Shop victims, so they got like fake links, that's what's more dangerous. It's a shame that and the total is up to Rp. 25 billion," said Fitrah.

Fitrah hopes that in the future complaints related to online loans and phishing can get faster follow-up.

In addition, Fitrah also said that education related to consumer protection can be more socialized, so that a dignified consumer term can be realized.

"Because dignified consumers are one of the points is to understand their rights and obligations," said Fitrah.
