PGN Targets 100,000 Households Using Natural Gas In 2024
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) targets to add natural gas network (jargas) connections to 100,000 household connections by 2024.
PGAS Director of Finance and Risk Management, Fadjar Harianto Widodo explained, until the third quarter of 2023, his party had managed 835 thousand household gas networks.
PGAS has also successfully completed the construction of 102,354 jargas connections in 37 districts and cities.
"In the future, the addition of the target is around 100,000 jargas connections. We hope to support investors to provide a better picture," said Fadjar at the Public Expose Live 2023, Wednesday, November 29.
Fadjar ensured that in the future PGAS would try to build jargas infrastructure to households in economically viable areas and have great purchasing power.
"We will try to build jargas infrastructure for Tangg houses in areas that are economically suitable and have the appropriate purchasing power," he explained.
Moreover, said Fadjar, the jargas market segment built by PGAS is targeting middle and upper households with a target market for non-subsidized LPG users that are still imported by the government
In addition to households, PGAS will also focus on utilizing gas to all sectors, especially for sectors with large absorptions such as electricity, refineries, industry, MSMEs and transportation.

He explained that the volume of natural gas trading also grew five percent to 935 BBTUD with more than 839,000 subscribers with the largest volume from power plants, chemical industries, ceramics, food and fertilizers.
He detailed that the distribution of gas to power plants holds the largest share for the industrial sector, which is 29 percent, followed by the chemical industry sector 33 percent, ceramics 15 percent, food eight percent, fertilizer eight percent, and other sectors eight percent.
