Lawsuit Rejected By MK, Nasrul Abit Phones West Sumatra Pilgub Winner Mahyeldi
PADANG - Gerindra Party politician Nasrul Abit congratulated the elected candidate for Governor of West Sumatra Mahyeldi-Audy Joinaldy. This remarks was conveyed after his election dispute lawsuit was rejected by the Constitutional Court (MK).
"The Constitutional Court has decided it means it is final. I have called Pak Mahyeldi to congratulate him. This is for West Sumatra, not for personal gain, so I am sincere," he said in Padang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 16.
Nasrul Abit, who previously served as Deputy Governor of West Sumatra for the 2016-2021 period, is running as a Candidate for the Governor of West Sumatra for the period 2021-2026 in pairs with Indra Catri.
In the recapitulation held by the West Sumatra KPU, pair number 4 Mahyeldi-Audy received 726,853 votes. They are superior to the pair number 2 Nasrul Abit - Indra Catri, who received 679,069 votes.
The Nasrul Abit-Indra Catri pair then submitted a dispute over the election results to the Constitutional Court. However, the Constitutional Court rejected the proposed lawsuit.
Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman read the verdict on case 128 / PHP.GUB-XIX / 2021 which stated that the applicant had no legal standing and that the petition could not be accepted.
Meanwhile, Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih said that after the Court heard and read carefully the statements of the respondent and related parties and examined the evidence submitted by the parties, the determination of the health examination team for the candidate for governor of West Sumatra, as the objection submitted by the applicant was in accordance with Article 45 paragraph 2b1 of Law 10 / 2006.
Then in relation to the violation of the voting procedures and procedures until the vote count recapitulation process, there was no convincing evidence that significantly affected the petitioner's vote.
The Constitutional Court also rejected the dispute over the results of the West Sumatra Pilgub submitted by Mulyadi-Ali Mukhni.
Head of West Sumatra Government Bureau Iqbal Ramadi Payana said after the results of the Constitutional Court, the process of determining the winner of the West Sumatra Pilgub can be continued by the local KPU.
Meanwhile, for the inauguration of the elected governor, his party is still waiting for further information from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
