SURABAYA - Whisnu Sakti Buana will end his term as Mayor of Surabaya, on Wednesday, February 17. Whisnu also directly said goodbye to the Head of the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) and the Head of the Sub-District within the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot).

"I am grateful to all ranks of OPD, ASN and non ASN in the Surabaya City Government who have done extraordinary work for Surabaya. I have my permission to say goodbye, I apologize too if I have been wrong, because whatever humans live there must be mistakes and sins," Whisnu said.

Whisnu admitted that he had gathered officials and sub-district heads because today was the last day he devoted himself to the Surabaya City Government. Because, tomorrow he must retire from duty.

However, the man who is familiarly called WS did not forget to advise all ranks within the Surabaya City Government to continue working to devote themselves to the citizens of the City of Heroes.

"I want to keep telling all OPDs that in the future they will continue to work with the intention of devoting themselves to the people of Surabaya," he ordered.

While serving at the Surabaya City Government, Whisnu admitted that his staff had worked very optimally and were extraordinary. This is also proven in the extraordinary implementation of handling COVID-19 and vaccinations in the City of Heroes.

"This morning, I received an award from the Coordinating Minister for PMK, which was handed over on our initiative to hold a conventional plasma donor in the city of Surabaya and today is the highest in Indonesia," he said.

"I see that Surabaya is really racing, running to pursue extraordinary goals for the people of Surabaya. That's why we are no longer talking at the regional or national level, we are talking at the international level," said Whisnu.

Moreover, in the next two years, Surabaya City will become one of the venues for the U-20 World Cup. For Whisnu, this was an extraordinary event. He hopes that in this two-year gap, the preparations made by the Surabaya City Government can be even better.
